Dr Azmy Birdi qualified in Obstetrics & Gynaecology working in specialist settings and hospitals before taking additional general practice training.
She has been providing Menopause care since the 1990s and is an accredited Menopause Specialist and Menopause Special Skills Trainer accredited by both the British Menopause Society as well as the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Health.
Having passed her RCOG (Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists) exams in 1997 she held the MRCOG (membership of the RCOG) and in 2009 was awarded an FRCOG - Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecologists. She is a post graduate medical educator and has been teaching and training local doctors since 2003 and has a WhatsApp Advice & Guidance group to educate other doctors about Women’s Health.
In July 2021 Dr Birdi was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Faculty of Sexual Health U.K. for services to Women’s Health.
During the 2020 coronavirus pandemic Dr Birdi wrote a book on the life of her own father, a distinguished surgeon who led the smallpox eradication campaign during the Indian epidemic in 1974-1975.
